Preschool Daily Schedule
Open-9:00 |
Arrival and breakfast (7:45-8:30). Children participate in quiet activities and eat breakfast. They can visit learning centers and participate in individual or small group activities. At 8:00 they have the choice of working inside or out. |
9:00-9:40 |
TK Time: 20 min each of Language & Literacy skill building and Numbers & Math. Multi-sensory learning that includes all learning styles. Developmental progression builds on what children already know. |
9:15-10:00 |
Snack: whole-grain foods and fresh fruits & vegetables. |
10:00-10:45 |
Art: Children explore art expression or choose to work in learning centers or participate in a variety of outdoor activities. |
Throughout morning |
Outdoor play: Children participate in an organized outdoor game or a variety of other activities (riding equipment, sand and water play, balls, parachute). |

Circle Time: Theme-focused morning routines, phonics, calendar, weather, puppets, sharing, music & movement, nursery rhymes. |

Discovery Lab: As a group children explore math & science concepts, color & shape, magnets, health, dramatic expression, animals and habitats, and balance and coordination. |
11:15-12:30 |
Lunch: Children wash their hands, set-up their place at the table, and eat lunch. |

Reading: Children select a book and read quietly, preparing for nap. |
12:45-2:00 |
Rest and Quiet Work Time: Most children sleep. If not, after a 30 minute rest, children can choose a quiet activity at the learning centers. |

Art: Children explore art expression or choose to work in learning centers or participate in a variety of outdoor activities. |
