Weekly Activities: Giraffe/Animals of the Savanna Week
November 18-22, 2024
Get Ready for a Wild Week!
This week, our little explorers will embark on a safari adventure! We’re diving into the world of giraffes and the amazing savanna.
- Monday: Giraffe Day – Let’s get our “G”s ready! Encourage your child to bring something that starts with the letter “G” to share with the class.
- Tuesday: Square & Brown Day – We’re focusing on the shape of the week, squares, and the color brown. Let’s spot squares and brown objects everywhere we go!
- Wednesday: Opposite Day: Up & Down – It’s time to mix things up! We’ll be exploring opposites like up and down.
- Thursday: Savanna Habitat Day – Let’s learn about the savanna, the giraffe’s home! We’ll be discovering the plants and animals that live there.
- Friday: Opposite Day: Long & Short – More opposites fun! We’ll be comparing things that are long and short.
Phonics: G says G G G G G Giraffe, my long neck gives me a laugh.
Parent Tip: Bring the Safari Home! To extend the learning fun, create a mini-savanna at home. Use blankets or sheets to create a “grassland” area, and gather stuffed animals or toys to represent savanna creatures. Encourage your child to use their imagination and create their own safari adventures!
