Erika

Director

Ms. Erika has been with Sunshine House for over 4 years and she likes working with children because she loves to see them grow each and every day! Erika is fluent in Spanish and loves to speak both English and Spanish with the children. Her favorite color is purple and her favorite season is summer.

Mary

Ms. Mary began her Sunshine House career in 1993 when her 2 daughters were attending the preschool and has been with us ever since. She enjoys the lake, houseboating and water sports.

Chelsea

Ms. Chelsea has been with Sunshine House for seven years. She loves the children’s smiling faces and all their hugs! Chelsea loves spending time outside with her four dogs; Remi, Kevin, Stella & Chloe. She keeps busy exercising, baking and visiting Disneyland often. Chelsea is a die-hard Bay Area sports fan. Her favorite flower is the Sunflower and her favorite Children’s Song is “The Wheels on the Bus”. Chelsea’s favorite quote is: “Believe you can and you are half way there”. -Theodore Roosevelt

Haley

Ms. Haley became a teacher after becoming a mom and knowing how important the role of teachers and parents are in young children’s lives. She loves Tim Burton movies and her favorite food is Sushi. Her favorite time of year is Fall and her favorite holiday is Halloween!

We love Sunshine House! My son has been attending for a little over 8 months and we are very happy with our decision to send him here. There are always special activities with weekly and daily themes which means there is always something for my son to look forward to. They have an imaginative play area that changes monthly (i.e. firefighters, restaurant). I love that they focus on play-based learning so students can learn by doing. They have a variety of outside play options, like a giant sandbox which is my son’s favorite. The teachers are welcoming and engaging and it is evident they have a genuine love for children!” – Kate

“Our daughter has been at Sunshine House for 8 months are we have been extremely impressed with this school. Each and every teacher exudes such a passion for what they do and they each have such a welcoming demeanor. Our daughter has a very cautious personality and each teacher has approached and gotten to know her in a way that makes her feel comfortable (and also puts us at ease!). Our daughter also has some speech delays and the teachers have helped her work on her speech skills, both verbally and with sign language. One of my favorite things about Sunshine House is that we periodically receive text messages and/or handwritten notes letting us know how our daughter is doing and what fun activities her day has been filled with. I love that the school is structured with both free play/exploration and also with organized group learning circles. This school has been a great stepping stone in socialization and preparing our daughter for the structure of full-time school in the future.
