Monday– Yellow/Amarillo

How you can participate: Have your child wear something yellow to school  (Sunshine House  shirt?)

Books – In my new yellow shirt
Action – Parachute Play with yellow (Amarillo) balloons or bean bags
Art – Lemon Prints
Math/Science – Yellow Taste Test: lemon, corn, cheese…
Music – Yellow Submarine

Tuesday – Going Bananas

How you can participate: Buy green bananas at the store and explore how they change each day.

Book – The Boy Who Loves Bananas
Action – Magic Blanket with bananas
Art – Painting with Banana peels
Science – Banana Taste Test
Music – Listen and Move

Wednesday – Opposite Day: High/Low

How you can participate: Look around your house and have your child name things that are up “high” and down “low”.

Book – Little Gorilla
Phonics – “A says a,a,a,a,a,a,ape…come to the zoo for a gape”
Art – Marble Paint the letter A
Engineering – Catapults
Music – Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Thursday- 5 Little Monkeys

How you can participate: Do you remember the silly jingle 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed or 5 Little Monkeys Swinging in the Tree? Sing it with your child.

Books – All Monkeys Love Bananas (Amazon)
Action – Rhythm Sticks
Art – Monkey Hats
Math/Science – Distance Jumping
Music – Jumping with Variations

Friday- Marvin the Ape

How you can participate: Bake banana bread at home, with help from your little chef.

Phonics – “A says a,a,a,a,a,a,ape…come to the zoo for a gape”
Art – Paper Plate Monkey
Gross Motor – Obstacle course
